New Police Department HeadquartersCreated on, 08 Oct 2017 | #1

Due to recent "dick-ish" behaviour in the Police Department, I've redesigned it's location and how it segregates those who need to be in the area, and those who don't.
For those of you who wish to see the proposed changes before they go live, you can watch the following video preview (in editor mode):

Everywhere inside the four outer-walls is a Safezone. Meaning no one should be getting shot or killed within these confines. Role-play for Police Officers can be handled in either the main HQ building, or the outer "Villa" building as both locations have suitable seating for role-play.
Civilians have automatic access to the first area, with the "Guard Hut" building at the main gate. Civilians here should park up and await interaction from a Police Officer. At no point should a Civilian simply wander into the restricted zones, as this makes them liable for Trespassing.
The Jail Point is next to the guard hut. This is so Bounty Hunters can arrest their caught fugitives without needing access to the restricted areas.

For any released prisoners, they will return to the same point they were dispatched from and can retrieve a stored vehicle opposite the new police HQ location, at the scrapyard.
The Police Database will be relocated to the old Police HQ area, with it's current build of security walling.

The only exception to the Safezone rule is, as it always has been, when a Hitman is dressed as a police officer and their target is not in active role-play with someone else.

Ultimately, I want to know the community's opinion on a potential relocation before it is implemented into the server. I would love some constructive feedback on why this is not a suitable option to rectify the problems we've had in the Police Department as of late.

Awesome stuffs, Stevo.. I especially like the "airlock" entry system.. Good shout.

Next thing on the list, make a functional prison near by that they can staff.
Only way to break out is by locating a security terminal inside the prison which when hacked opens the electronic gate and allows their escape.
If Cops are "on duty" inside the prison (within a capture are like telos for example) it vastly reduces the already low chance of success of a break out. The risk being if they fail, they add time to ALL inmates for each fail, but if they succeed the alarms are triggered with potentail that ALL prisoners could escape. If players want to just serve their time and leave legit, then they pay the bail in the usual way, bail isn't affected by the failures..

It adds to Cops roles but more importantly it would stop the helicopter breakouts/swim outs but obviously not the suicides (but then convicts suicide in real life). "Bad" players actually serve their time for the most part and as in real life depend on each other to either not have added time to their sentences, escape or else pay the bail.

Just an idea bud as you're getting into the architectural aspects of map editing :)

Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of Death, every other mother fucker bows down..

Thanks George, as awesome as the idea sounds of an actual prison, I don’t know how the community would respond to that. Guarding a prison is also boring when there aren’t any prisoners... and if we make the prison too secure, no one will break out and people would be very bored in prison too.

I like the sound of the idea, but in practicality terms it’d take some serious tweaking... maybe create a poll for this yourself and ask the community how they’d feel about it.

I like Gex's idea, seems a little lacking when all fellas have to do when they go prison is swim for a bit and cops can't do ought about it.

Anyways, loving the proposed changes Steve keep up the great work, we appreciate it.

PS: where would this be on the map, kinda hard to make out from video

I think the location is bright and new, and is much more secure for officers. However, I cannot seem to locate a Heli-Pad, this will be needed as once the PD grows a tad more myself and Matty will be creating new parts of the Police force, e.g. Aerial, Ground, Marine...

The location is across the bay from where the existing PD is located.
The police database will be moved to existing PD's location, where there's also the same helipad and boat shop for police officers.

Cady asked me to reply to this since he is bad at typing :P

He would like to know if the heli pad area will be more secure as well?
I.E. If we go out there to get a chopper and get ambushed by more people than we are (so we should/have to comply with them) they could easily steal a chopper before the rest of the officers can get there.

It's as it currently is in the server. The helipad has two gates leading up to it, which only open automatically if you're logged on as a police officer.

Prison system

As it stands, I've coded the system to use both the existing prison (for players with a bounty under $1000) and the new prison (for players with a bounty over 1000 and players that try and suicide out of prison, or respawn).

So in order to test it properly, once it's on the server, I need the police to start sending civilians to prison for any crimes code 3 and above (some of these are only like £100 bounties, so the player being sent to prison shouldn't really complain all that much).

The old prison is known as Makrynisi Corrections, where players can go to be rehabilitated. The new prison is known as Kavala Prison where players are locked up and can only escape under certain scenarios.

A hidden jailpoint has been set up inside Kavala Prison if any Police want to engage in a role-play scenario where the prisoner is escorted from Police Department, over to the prison itself. Once inside the corridor, near the NPC, they can send the suspect to prison using the standard method.

The reason I'm looking to bring this in sooner than expected is because players have found a way to exploit the current prison system, by skipping jail times through respawning or combat logging, and by finding a way to exploit the rock mining system.
